Producer Director Playwright
Greg arrives at his first outing as Producer, Director and Playwright with a delightfully eclectic past touring Europe with the anarchic comedy troupe Sheer Madness, then running his award winning animation studio, Lawson & Whatshisname BV (with prizes from the Annecy and Zagreb Animation Festivals). After studying with screenwriting guru Robert McKee, he’s turned to the stage, with two more plays already in the works.
Production Advisor
A refugee from Australia, Gail found fertile ground in Amsterdam, where she established an international theatre agency. When setting down roots became a priority, she founded Culture Coalition, Spin Off Breakdance Without Boundaries, LiteSide Festival, and LiteSide Production Company. Her latest project is Fusion Oriental Dance. Gail gives advice and support to Quill & Dagger’s creative chaos and, crucially, she laughs at our jokes.
Sound Designer
A lifelong hunter and collector of sound effects, music, and texts, Helen has spent decades in record store listening booths around the world and behind the decks at unorthodox events, from alt-fashion shows to Getto Nights to Ladyfest/WTF, Open Stanza, and the queer radio programmes Alien and Jivewire. Possessed of a near-legendary musical ear (and quite possibly an actual addiction to music), she brings razor-sharp instinct and impeccable comic timing to the sonic world of Quill & Dagger.
Lighting Designer
Jorge, a self confessed tech obsessive and data nerd, approaches theatrical chaos with mad scientist like intensity, treating lighting design as a form of visual alchemy deconstructing colour, timing, and atmosphere to discover exactly which lights make an audience laugh, gasp, or open their wallets on command. Jorge brings analytical precision, gleamingly sharp comic timing and barely contained genius to Quill & Dagger.
Set & Costume Designer
In 1992 Robbie joined the legendary Azart Ship of Fools as actor, costume and set designer, and resident foolish sailor. For seventeen years he performed in European harbours from St Petersburg, Helsinki to Cork,Ireland and France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Israel and Morrocco. In 2009 he co-founded Olifanttakeover in Amsterdam, where, with partner Viktor Ormazabal, he continues to devise gloriously unruly work: artistically skewed visions of human folly, passion and love, blending comic horror and the grotesque with costumes and props that seem to have escaped from a beautifully deranged dream.
